The research allowed us to refer to the impact of the cultures and languages of American Indians on the American social scene and American English. During the research, the tasks were solved and the following conclusions were made:
1. The history of the development of US-Indian relations is a long process, including several stages and continuing nowadays. A dialogue was finally reached in the relations between Native Americans and the US government over past decades. Theoretically both sides act on equal rights, which was largely facilitated by significant changes in American-Indian legislation, as well as a number of political, economic, social, cultural and other programs adopted in the second half of the 20th – 21st centuries, aimed at the comprehensive support of the autochthonous population.
2. Today the U.S. government began to fight for the preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of Native Americans actively. Now the political course is taken for the revival of Indian cultures and the flourishing of modern Indian art, which, based on ancient traditions, acquire a new sound in modern conditions.
3. The influence of the cultures and languages of the indigenous population of the United States on American English is expressed in the presence of Native American loanwords, compound names with the lexical unit Indian, phraseological units etymologically related to the life, household, and traditions of American Indians.
